Birthday Bash

Okay, so maybe it wasn't a bash per say. It was a quaint dinner at a hidden gem.

I went to dinner with my my adorable friend Haley (who should definitely be the one blogging btw). She's basically Elsa (Frozen, duh.) and Audrey Hepburn's love child. She's literally perf.
Drinking our shakes! She's a doll, right?

We ended up at this gem: The Bluebird Cafe.

So... to be completely honest. The food is just... sort of... blah. Nothing to write home about. The story is pretty cool though. The Bluebird was established in 1914, and is still boasting the 100 year old granite at the bar. The atmosphere is adorable. It literally feels like you've stepped back in time. Maybe that's partly due to the elderly age of its patrons, but it just takes you back to another time.

If you ever find yourself in this strange little town, make sure you swing by for a milk shake and sit at the bar. The soda shoppe feel of the counter is the main draw. Just do it. The bar is spectacular and the shakes are delish!

Now... I've talked about the sugar, fat filled, history portion of the birthday bash. Here's a quick look at what I ate that day and the recipes that accompany them!

I was craving sugar and chocolate like CRAZY that day. It was bad. So... to beat the craving I made Chocolate Cheesecake Overnight Oats and a Banana Chocolate Chip Shake. Super healthy, super yummy.

Chocolate Cheesecake Overnight Oats

Ingredients:
1/3 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
1/2 Cup milk of your choice
2 tsp chia seeds
2 1/2 Tbsp Cottage Cheese
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1/4 scoop Chocolate Whey Protein
1/4 Cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt

Directions:
Mix oats, milk, and chia seeds together and place in container they will sit in overnight. Now blend together cottage cheese, vanilla, whey protein and greek yogurt. Top oat mixture with chocolate cheesecake mixture, place lid on container and place in the fridge overnight.
In the morning, just take off the lid, grab a spoon and eat cold straight from the jar!

The Overnight Oats right before I put them in the fridge and got some beauty sleep!
The Chocolate Cheesecake Overnight Oats the next morning right before I devoured them. They were amaze.

Banana Chocolate Chip Smoothie

Ingredients:
2 Frozen Bananas
1 Tbsp Cocoa powder (more or less to taste)
1 Tbsp mini chocolate chips
Some water to thin it out

Directions:
